Afternoon and After School Programs 2011/12 School Year
Afternoon Programs for Early Childhood Children
Tacoma Waldorf School offers an afternoon kindergarten program to children already enrolled in our Kindergarten and Preschool programs. The afternoon session is a gentle extension of our morning program. We will have a warm meal to share, and an extended rest time. We will embark on adventures and share the stewardship of the kindergarten spaces.
We offer options for families needing shorter or longer afternoons, the occasional afternoon, as well as those families requiring regular afternoons.
Our short Session is from 1:00-3:30 and our long Session is from 1:00-5:30.
When possible, the program may also be available on a modified schedule with limited availability during school breaks, parent/teacher conferences, and holidays.

After School Programs for Grade School Children
The After School Program for our grade school students is an epicenter of impulses that contribute to the children's unique Waldorf culture. Old-fashioned but ageless indoor activities such as string games, origami, crafts, board games, drawing and reading, and dynamic outdoor activities such as jump-roping, hula-hooping, and various tag games are part of a daily routine. The process of creating games that fit the particular configuration of children each day is a valuable learning opportunity for all. We offer a safe environment, where the children find holistic childhood playtime, a simple idea that has become rare in children's social environments today.
After School Program for Grade School Hours/Days
